Quick question people. When deals are been negotiated between mandatory title fights is the money split 50/ 50 as the fight has to happen?

the champ usually gets the bigger slice of the pie mate.

75/ 25 in favour of the challenger.

3.) 10 Apr 2018 03:29:04
It's 75/ 25 in favour of the champion, sorry. I don't know why I put challenger.
At least, this is what Eddie Hearn was saying about it in an IFL interview a while back.

4.) 10 Apr 2018 10:43:03
There's actually no hard and fast rule. Usually 75-25 is a starting point, but the marketability of the challenger can change that. For example, GGG against Jacobs was ordered at 75-25 in GGG's favour but in the end it was 60-40. Also GGG took US$3m -US€5m against Canelo because Canelo generate so much money. It was still a career high payday for him after the US€2,5m he got against Jacobs, but it shows you that there is no rule really.

There's no re-match clause when there's a mandatory defense, but Tyson Fury oddly agreed to one when he fought Klitschko. He didn't have to and shouldn't have done. But that was just good work by Klitschko's team who are past masters at contract negotiations.

It's 75-25 only when a fight goes to purse bid.

A fight with a mandatory can be agreed beforehand under different terms if it doesn't end up via purse bid hence Klitschko's rematch clause.

Glad groves won tonight! I am sick of telling people time and time again that Eubank Jr is very very average. Was slightly concerned over groves motivation but as I thought he is a skill level above. I think groves could have put him away but saw the game plan out and never put the result at risk. Nice and controlled for groves and ulitmately a great result as on another day and another groves you just can never be sure.

Was a fun fight, but there were clear levels between each of them. I don't think many fighters will be worried about Eubank Jr anymore, as that's twice he's been completely outclassed.
Really happy for Groves, he genuinely deserves it.

2.) 22 Feb 2018 22:46:07
Eubank has all the physical characteristics to be a good fighter. He's fast, puts up good combination, he's tough and he has a good chin.
His problem is arrogance and lack of intelligence. He's never going to be a world champion if he doesn't get a trainer.

He’s not a bad fighter but not a great boxer. He got beat by an unpredictable groves and BJS who is a very good boxer.

I turned it off after I heard the first scorecard. I knew it would go like that if Golovkin didn't get the knock out.

Watching all the mayweather v mcgreggor build up and it is becoming more and more obvious that Conor doesn't stand a chance and it's not for all the common sense reasoning I see bellow of a mismatch, mayweather an all time great etc etc. It's to do with the fact that everyone involved will be payed and in the mayweather pockets. It's not just the man Conor has to beat! The only chance that Conor has is to go like fcuk from the get go. He ain't ever going to box mayweather because no one can it's the only chance but the ref won't allow it! Like with Hatton it wasn't allowed . If he is allowed to go and blow into him then he has a small chance a punchers chance in the hope that he can take what mayweather will catch him with for been reckless . By the sound of it there are so many clauses and conditions for Conor that it is all but impossible . Mayweather is a fanny and he keeps saying that he's in it for fortune not fame but let me tell you he cares more about the unbeaten record than cash! It's fun watching Conor verbally smash him all over because when it comes to banter floyd is second best by far.

I wonder how much confidence has returned to fury! Would be interesting if he fought him before he had chance to get the ring rust off. Another fighter I can’t stand.

A shot fighter! The guys always been in my opinion an absolute minge. No bottle no battle and never really faced anyone of any note and got battered by half decent fighters . A complete disgrace to boxing for me!

To be perfectly fair I have to agree with James on the fact that to turn up in the ring like that and considering his non existent boxing skills you are always going to risk putting yourself in trouble. Don’t wish any ill of Browne and glad he’s ok.
