Did not expect to see Lucas Browne get knocked out like that. Well done Dillian.

It was a brutal ko. To me Browne didn't look fit enough to fight. I think he thought he just had to turn up and unload a power shot to win.

Looked overweight and slow with no real gameplay other than hoping to land a big shot. Big win and a decent name on Whytes record, I do hope we see him fight Wilder.

absolute disgraceful condition to enter a boxing ring, browne got everything he deserved.

jamesbhoy67, that's a little harsh no? Browne isn't a great boxer, but he comes across as a decent bloke so I don't get the hostility.

James you don't have to be in good shape to be fit lad he sparred plenty of rounds it's the fact you all are totally under rating whyte he wore him down and took him out while Browne new he only had one chance whyte had a few different options, the next fight ad imagine be wilder be a tough fight for both but don't be supprized if whyte pulls it of.

its not hostiliy, you saw the state of him at the end how unfit he was when he was administered oxygen by the medics, he was risking serious injury entering the ring in such poor shape.

Can't say I agree with you. He got completely sparked out, so oxygen was obviously going to be administered like it is in every single proper KO.
Browne clearly thought coming in heavy would give him the best chance of winning, as Dillian's chin would not last taking heavy shots for 7 to 12 rounds. Unfortunately for him, it worked heavily in Whyte's favour as he was able to out manouver and out work him from the start. Browne looked very slow, but that could have been due to the inactivity he's had.
Just out of curiosity, have you ever seen Andy Ruiz jr? That guy is flabby as anything, but he took Parker the distance for the then vacant WBO world title. I didn't see the fight personally, but I've heard that a lot of the rounds could have been scored either way. Lots of sparring stories saying that Ruiz is extremely heavy handed too.
Fury is also another one who is slightly flabby and he's the only professional boxer to ever beat Klitschko on points. Going back a few years now but David Tua, Rey Mercer and even Lennox Lewis on occasion came in slightly fleshy.
Just because they don't look like Holyfield or Joshua in terms of physique, doesn't mean they're not fit and not prepared for the fight.

Hsf, I watched the Parker vs Ruiz fight and think a majority decision is a bit mad, I had it 116-112 to Parker and find it hard to score it any differently but Ruiz can fight. It was a former sparring partner of both men I believe who said Ruiz hits much harder than Parker, Ruiz has ridiculous hand speed for a man that fat.

I’m not going to comment on the physique part of it because everyone has different genetics and not everyone can come in looking like Anthony Joshua.

What I will say is I don’t get why people think the HW division of today is crap.

Joshua
Wilder
Fury
Parker
Fury
Whyte
Miller
Breazeale
Ruiz
Ortiz
Povetkin
Takam

Any of those fighters fighting each other is a good fight, I remember hearing from my dad that during the 90s loads of people were calling the HW division terrible and hoping for Mike Tyson to come back and rescue the division. It wasn’t until that era was over that people realised that it was a golden age of HW boxing. I’m not saying this is a golden age but I do believe it is very underrated and all the major fighters will swap losses. I don’t see Wilder, Joshua or Fury retiring without a loss. Too many different styles.

the only one that can come out undefeated in this heavy weight era is fury in my opinion.

To be perfectly fair I have to agree with James on the fact that to turn up in the ring like that and considering his non existent boxing skills you are always going to risk putting yourself in trouble. Don’t wish any ill of Browne and glad he’s ok.

It's Boxing. Even if you come in to the ring in the shape of your life, you are still putting yourself at risk. In hindsight it's easy to say that Browne did wrong and should have come in better shape, but at the end of the day him and his trainer chose the tactics, they got it wrong and that's that. He came to win, that much is evident because if he didn't, he'd have gone down and stayed down in the 3rd when Dillian was unable to miss.
I just don't see the need to call him a disgrace and that he got what he deserved. He didn't "deserve" it and he wasn't a "disgrace". He isn't known for being a bad person and he's not exactly a big mouth, he's actually very well spoken for an Aussie.

Have you always been so presumptious and rude Special K? I'm not up his arse in any way, shape or form. I am merely giving my opinion, which is perfectly valid. I am sorry that my opinion differs from yours, but you need to get over it and not take it so personally. It's like when you got all shirty over the Kell Brook comments on here. Most of us actually like Kell and watch him regularly, but we can still think someone else beats him, you know?
