This is also going to be a big year for Connor Benn, Josh buatsi, Anthony yarde, Lawrence okolie, all could be world champs by end of the year, and in woman's boxing wouldn't mind seeing clarrisa shield s v Katie Taylor if it can happen.

Would agree josh buatsi. Yarde still question mark over him and okie still raw no need to rush.

2.) 21 Feb 2020 23:23:35
Shields vs Taylor probably won't happen. Clarissa campaigns around middleweight and Taylor at lightweight. It would be like Lomachenko fighting Golovkin lol.

Buatsi is special and should become world champion. He's got great punch variety, good defense, respectable power and good cardio. Only question is what happens when he gets hit by an elite level puncher?

Okolie has good power but his style of fighting is ugly and will not be favourable to judges at the elite level. I can see him winning a title or two but I don't think he'll be able to hold on to them. Once someone figures out how to negate his reach, he'll be beaten decisively and we'll see him drop out of the elite level (if he gets there to begin with of course) .

Yarde just needs to drop his ego, start doing some cardio and stop pretending he's the next Ali or Mayweather. He's got skills no doubt, but his attitude is rotten and he's too busy trying to emulate those from the past, he needs to focus on being himself and making sure he can go the distance.

Benn will always be in exciting fights, but I'm not sure he'll ever be world champion. He's not overly durable and is very inexperienced. I just see him getting stopped or even KO'd against elite opposition.

Some good points there hsf, who is your favourite boxer?

4.) 22 Feb 2020 12:37:45
Mikey Garcia is probably my favourite, he's just fundementally brilliant. It's a shame he may have dented his legacy by taking on Errol Spence jr.

5.) 22 Feb 2020 15:00:40
He says he's staying at welterweight aswel hsf mate.

Hi guys new on here, I want fury to win I can't see it this time I know he schooled wilder last time, but I think this time will be different I hope I'm wrong because then we will get a all UK fight in summer or just before Xmas AJ v fury, I'm going wilder knockout round 6/ 8,but if fury boxes like last time and stays away from wilder and ties him up and rough him up abit i'd also say fury points there the 2bets I'm putting on at the bookies tomorrow, but it's the fans that win it's the biggest fight I can remember since Tyson v Lennox and let's face they were way past the prime then especially iron Mike, hope everyone enjoys the fight I'm looking forward to this one haha.

I don't think it'll go the distance this time, I can see a KO in this one, just not sure who for. Obviously Wilder is the puncher but I reckon Fury might actually try and get him out of there if he has the chance. There were a few times in the first fight were I thought Wilder looked tired and hurt and maybe if Fury stepped on the gas he could've done more. Maybe he will this time around.

Mid-to-late stoppage is my prediction, probably 60-40 in Wilder's favour.

I really am cheering big Fury on, he's changed the perception of how people feel about the traveling community. I have a funny feeling he might box south paw, I know that might be dangerous with Wilders straight right hand but it will protect that cut from the left hook.

3.) 21 Feb 2020 17:56:51
He was cut by the right eye. Scrap that idea of him fighting south paw then.

4.) 21 Feb 2020 18:31:57
Hi gents new poster on this site, read an article this morning in a newspaper, suggesting that wilder is the biggest puncher in boxing history! That might come as news to foreman, Tyson, louis, even shavers et al, any thoughts?

5.) 21 Feb 2020 19:04:41
Not for me mate. Need to look at the quality of the opposition, and he falls short way short in that category compared to someone like foreman or liston. He can certainly hit hard and is punching through the guard of some fighters which showed how hard he's hitting. But until he beats better fighters I can't give him that title YET.

6.) 21 Feb 2020 19:46:31
Must admit I thought it was a ludicrous assessment when I read it, my 1st thought of 1960s onward fighters, foreman immediately sprang to mind, and Liston who was getting on by the early 60s as you mentioned was really heavy handed, I never really fell for the whole Tyson thing but there was little doubt he could really bang, earnie shavers although never real top class also could, I think the quality foreman had to contend with in the 70s made him stand out for me,

7.) 21 Feb 2020 20:11:28
I would add the great Cuban Teófilo Stevenson to that list also although he never turned pro.

8.) 21 Feb 2020 20:37:21
Roro1892 yes mate most other Olympic champs went on to be world pro champs, and Stevenson was one of the great amateur champs.

9.) 21 Feb 2020 20:45:28
I was told years ago Frank Bruno had the record for most pressure force produced by a punch tested. don't know if true or not.

10.) 21 Feb 2020 20:50:39
Tyson for me then fraizer, foreman also big wladimer Klitschko.

11.) 21 Feb 2020 23:47:17
I think as Roro pointed out, the only thing stopping me from saying he is, is the level of opposition. The likes of Breazeale, Stiverne, Molina, Washington are all tailor made for Wilder, as they get hit often. Breazeale especially.

One to look for which I've said for a while, Povetkin. He has the most devastating KO highlight reel of the active heavyweights today (excluding Wilder) . His left hook is utterly terrifying, and what he did to Johann Duhaupas is borderline criminal.

There is a very good reason that Wilder's team made a huge deal over Povetkin's minor test failure, which was a substance put on the banned list that month. Povetkin sued Wilder for over $3million over lost revenue lol.

No better fighter in my opinion than a prime Mike Tyson.
