Does anyone else yearn for an era where the likes of Hagler, Hearns, Leonard and Duran, all fought each other? Boxing is in such a bad state just now, we are crying out for some new superstars.

Could argue that this truly is a golden age for boxing, The amount of TV interest shows that. In America boxing is being shown free-to-air again and over here we have ch 5 and ITV providing competition for sky sports and BT sports and then u have box nation a ch which is completely boxing. What makes boxing different today from boxing afew decades ago is the amount of titles that clog up the divisions, and the different governing bodies who all set their own ranking and have their own champion. It's harder to make truly great fights these days imo because of the amount of different Promotional companies there is who are signed to different networks.

There's no superstars or big glamour fights now, that's my point Roro mate.

No I get your point mate and I do agree with u to a extent but we are getting 80 thousand sell out stadium fights and different countries around the world looking to cash in on boxing. There is superstars like canelo and AJ and great fights to be made it's just making them mate. The heavyweights imo r all not that good and that includes fury and I agree they r all too worried about losing to each other when they should just be fighting each other and then in years to come we can remember this heavyweight era with happiness not frustration.

The only decent fight on the horizon that you could say was a mega fight is Fury v Wilder, AJ is a fraud, who was found out in his last fight.

Canelo vs Kovalev I would class as a mega fight mate.

Too many mediocre fights being covered, that's the problem mate, and channel 5 always lose stars like Tyson Fury and Josh Taylor as soon as they get ready to fight for world titles, and the itv fights now are all ppv fights, and they're not exactly Benn V Eubank are they?

The fact that itv and ch 5 r showing boxing mate shows that boxing is not in a bad state like u say. There is a lot average fights being made but we have had 2 fights of the year contenders recently with the GGG fight and Spence fight. don't know what's round the corner mate in terms of mega fights, if/ when AJ, wilder and fury fight each other they will all be classed as mega fights, as will usyk against any of the top 3. Spence vs Crawford, lomachenko vs Garcia, lomachenko vs Davis, Davis vs Inoue, Inoue vs Gonzalez, all mega fights that hopefully can be made in the next couple of years.

It's the average fights I'm talking about Roro, when I look at most of the fights been shown I've never heard of half of them, and I consider myself quite knowledgeable about boxing, also back in the day you used to have 4 or 5 class guys contending at each weight.

This is like the debate I'm having with my bro atm who says the same thing is happening with football, and that the players today r not as good as the players of afew years ago. U do have a point mate but there is average fights being made aswel atm it's just that they r all being shown on PPV which they r not worthy of imo.

Yeah Roro mate, but we don't want average fights, we want blockbusters, hopefully Fury and Wilder will get it on soon, I'm also looking forward to Taylor v Prograis.

Saying there are no glamour fights or superstars in this era is such a naive statement.
The Heavyweight division is the most competitve it's been since the 90s, as there are 6 big names all vying for the belts - Joshua, Fury, Whyte, Wilder, Usyk and now Ruiz jr. Personally I think that will end up with Fury vs Usyk for the #1 spot.
The middle/ supermiddle weight divisions are looking pretty solid too. I put these two together as fighters in these divisions are open to bouncing between the two. But you've got Canelo, Golovkin, Andrade and Jacobs in the middleweight division, plus Callum Smith, Billy-Joe Saunders, Benavidez and I guess you can throw Eubank jr in there too - as he is a fairly big draw. The only one from this list I expect to move up permanently is Smith.

Welterweight has a few big names, although some of them are degrading in both skillset and stature. Crawford, Spence (hopefully he recovers), Pacquiao, Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter.

Lightweight is not bad with Lomachenko, Luke Campbell, Commey, Lee Selby and Mikey Garcia.

Also there is Inuoe, who I expect will go through some of the weight divisions, he's currently a Bantamweight and is living up to his alias of The Monster.

One thing we have to remember, is just because they're not superstars in Britain, doesn't mean they're not superstars elsewhere. Inuoe is massive in Japan for example, and Pacquiao is still a huge draw in Asia.

The heavyweights r to preoccupied about their place in boxing history when I don't think any of them would get in my top 30 heavyweights of all time. They should just fight each other then they would be remembered as boxing in an exciting era for the heavyweights. a lot of potential matchups I'm looking forward to next year hopefully.

Whats naive about it? It's a true statement, the heavyweight division is a shambles, and in the rest of the divisions they all want to avoid fighting each other, and pac man is nowhere near the boxer he used to be, so name me these major superstars on a par with former champs like Hagler or Leonard?

Thats legends of the sport u r mentioning there mate. I'd say in todays boxing canelo and lomachenko and possibly usyk r worth legendary status, then u have the likes of Crawford, spence, inoue and a hat full of others that could become potential legends.
