Some very critical comments about Tyson Fury's weight (and perceived power) loss after this mornings fight from John Fury.
From what I gather, Fury was only 2 lbs or so lighter than he was at the Wilder fight though he would be at his lightest ever fighting weight of 154 lbs?
John's assertion was that he "is a 19 stone fighter".
That seems awfully heavy for a boxer to me and, with Fury's body shape, difficult to see where he accommodates that gain without looking bloated?

I'm far from a boxing expert but I get the impression (and this is not to ignore the training camps he does) that Fury primarily gets by on great technique and great heart.
If Joshua had been cut as severely as that, I'd wager he'd have been beaten.

I think that big John wants Tyson to not have to rely on his upper body movement so much and add more weight to add more power in his punches, a 19st Tyson would still be hard to hit and have more power to keep the opponent off him. Although Tyson is not that type of fighter, he's never been a type of fighter.
John does have a point about the condition of Tyson though as he did seem to gas out after 3 rounds. He could have underestimated Wallin and not prepared himself mentally for it, although to suffer a cut like that and basically been down to one eye and still box yourself to a points win, john should look more at the positives imo.

A thought I've had is Tyson has said him self he has an addictive personality, he's lost around 9stone recently is dieting his new addiction?

He’s probably cut out eating the rubbish but I’ve read about the enjoyment he’s getting from training now. Certainly physical exercise can be addictive, particularly for depression sufferers, and is excellent therapy.
But the obvious effect is weight loss.
Great point that Roro, I hadn’t considered Fury’s personality at all but it’s bound to be a significant factor.

If big john is correct in what he's saying and that Tyson is better suited around the 19st mark, its going to be a difficult one if training and losing weight is helping his depression but hindering his boxing mate.
