Alvarez to sign new deal worth 20mil a fight. Hope he fights Smith or Billy joe this year. Could be a good end to the year for boxing.

This is something I don't understand, why are the top fighters refusing to take less money? These guys are not short of cash, they have good sponsors backing them and other revenue streams in most cases.

Not only that, but if Canelo doesn't accept the revised offer and reignites his court case, he's going to financially ruin DAZN and put a very large roster of fighters in limbo. The bigger names will be fine, but the guys who aren't a big draw or aren't particularly exciting will struggle.

For the good of Boxing Canelo should take the deal, it would set an example and others would hopefully follow suit because of it.
I don't normally advocate for professional fighters to get less money, but for the good of the sport they have to right now.

Apparently he's entitled to his 35mil a fight but for the good of his own career I hope he signs the deal. he's 30 years of age now and arguably in his prime wouldn't want to waste a year or two.
