AJ to face Povetkin in September, that'll be a fight and half that one, my money is on AJ though.

Salah

1.) 16 Jul 2018 14:58:57
I can't see it being much of a fight really. Povetkin off the PED's is a useless Povetkin. People are getting hyped that he knocked out David Price, who has a chin made out of paper mache and if Price can hurt him, then AJ will smash him. Remember, Povetkin is 39 years old and without juice.

2.) 16 Jul 2018 19:55:01
Knockout win for Joshua.

3.) 17 Jul 2018 20:10:11
Lol, big baby Miller getting in AJ's face at the Joshua vs Povetkin presser. What a tool.

4.) 17 Jul 2018 22:36:32
Lol I literally just saw that hsf, exactly mate, a complete spanner.

5.) 18 Jul 2018 14:54:56
All stage managed hsf and salah.

6.) 18 Jul 2018 18:49:07
Can you prove that Jamesbhoy67?
Because I've seen that kind of behaviour lead to scraps before and scraps aren't staged:

youtube.com/watch?v=LBiaN7RBXCc&t=1s
youtube.com/watch?v=E6mQ4LDi_QU

Additionally, Joshua apparently went after him later on in the corridor:

7.) 18 Jul 2018 23:28:47
Its to boost ticket sales, these stunts have been going on since boxing began.

8.) 21 Jul 2018 01:02:57
I can't see the need for AJ to boost his ticket sales. He sells out whoever he fights. Most of the more casual fans had never heard of Takam or Pulev, but they still 75000 people still turned out to see him fight in Cardiff. Do you also think Klitschko could have fought anyone else at Wembley and still sold 90000 tickets?
The casual fans of boxing love AJ and they really don't care who he's fighting lol. He'll only fight in stadiums now unless it's in America.

9.) 21 Jul 2018 23:34:25
I know AJ can sell tickets hsf, but the promoters like a bit of controversy to boost pay per view sales, especially Eddie Hearn, who has learned all the tricks of the trade off of his old man.

10.) 22 Jul 2018 12:00:54
hsf, can you imagine how quick the tickets will sell for Fury v AJ when they finally meet? minutes lol, they wouldn't even need press conferences lol.

I thought I'd share this, what a man, Braddock, he was fighting to put food on the table for his kids, these days they're fighting to get more money for a new Bentley or another mansion somewhere. How times have changed.

You've got Mayweather and co spouting off about how much he paid for a ping pong table etc almost everyday, they should learn a thing or two by researching how it was back in the day and appreciate life itself and what they have!

1.) 21 May 2018 16:04:28
Good fighter had some very good matches.

2.) 21 May 2018 20:51:24
Yes Walter mate and a very interesting life too.

3.) 22 May 2018 18:19:55
Found some real gems of this generation of fighters on YouTube one guy even re mastered the black and white grain recordings on a few of them.

4.) 24 May 2018 08:35:16
Fantastic isn't it Walter, it surprises me such content is on the internet today, after all them years. Fascinating.

5.) 24 May 2018 18:45:50
Most of the fights are better than the modern game. Obviously rules have been tweaked etc but these guys fought to feed the family etc and many took savage beatings.

6.) 24 May 2018 20:29:00
Exactly my point from the original post Walter mate. They were true men, who fought for their family to eat. I mean Braddock, he broke his hand and was basically thrown out of the whole boxing scene, so he went to work wherever he could. Things got worse for him and he eventually ended up back into boxing against Max Baer. I only know this from watching the film 'Cinderella man' and it made me want to know more about such a fantastic individual so I read more on him, an absolute legend but it's not just him, in them days many people was in exactly the same boat, unfortunately not everybody was as lucky. These fellas wasn't bothered about showing what new car they could get or posting pictures of thousands of pounds etc, they were true gents.

7.) 27 May 2018 09:57:55
Just remember cinderella man is a film. They portrait max baer in a really bad light. Even the director the guy from happy days admitted he made the max character worse to improve the film.
In reality max was a wonderful funny guy and well liked everywhere. Check his home videos on you tube.
Although he killed in the ring, he was deverstated and never forgave himself for the rest of his life.

No messing about, Bellew went out there to win and my word did he do it well. I have respect for both fighters but Haye is gone, he's past it and needs to leave it alone from now on otherwise he'll get embarrassed, he's had a very good career, he should be proud of it and leave it alone as of now.

First two rounds Haye looked sharp, I thought 'here we go, we're in for an almighty brawl here' 3rd round it all changed as soon as Haye went down he lost his mind, he couldn't get back into it unfortunately for him, he was out there in pluto.

Congrats to Bellew, against all the odds, again, he went and did it, respect. He's a good fighter, who's next is the big question?

Salah

1.) 06 May 2018 16:36:18
Aye well done salah lad u said it, but haye is a knob to be fair my wife is a nurse and she said it before the fight there's no way his Achilles has healed in a yr not enough to fight anyway.
It's hard to have any respect for a man than was doing it for the money.
Onto bellew he is a good fighter and who knows what's next but if a was him ad take notice of nass and not even go down the road of Andre ward that will end in tears, ward is one of the best ave ever seen apply his trade.

I came on here to ask about the Tyson article Ed, just wondering how it's getting on mate? I found myself watching videos of him and a couple of hours flew by, I know I only asked the other week, just really looking forward to it. No pressure though mate, I know he is another one who has one hell of an interesting life, one you can't just put into words in a few days.

Salah

{Ed001's Note - it is just finding the time to write it up now mate. It has been started but it is difficult to find the time as the sites have been particularly busy lately. I am hoping I will get some time this week to concentrate on it and get it finished. But I am up to just putting it down on paper (or should that be on screen nowadays?) which is the final bit.}

1.) 30 Apr 2018 11:47:58
Yeah I can imagine with all the sites to handle it must be difficult to find time to write articles. No rush mate :)

{Ed001's Note - it does cut into the time, makes it difficult to find time for stuff like eating, sleeping etc as well. I need to get a housekeeper or maid or something. One that will pay me for the privilege!}

2.) 01 May 2018 09:00:36
I look forward to this edd. Hopefully when the season has ended you might have time to do a few others. Maybe your version of the top ten of all time.

{Ed001's Note - the plan is to do a whole series on Boxing Legends like I have been doing on Football ones.}

3.) 01 May 2018 16:33:27
Good man looking forward to it.

{Ed001's Note - cheers neggie, I just hope it at least lives up to your expectations, preferably exceeds them.}

4.) 01 May 2018 19:42:37
Don't suppose you have a list of legends you're going to be eventually writing articles on? If so, could we see the list and potentially add to it like on the Football site?

{Ed001's Note - I haven't begun a list yet, I was kind of hoping that people would request ones like that mate, so too right, that would be great.}

5.) 01 May 2018 21:19:28
A few I'd love to read about Ed1.

Muhammed Ali
Sugar Ray Leonard
Joe Frazier
Jake LaMotta
Larry Holmes
Thomas Hearns

There's more I could suggest but can't think right now, these are just off the top of my head.

{Ed001's Note - I was going to do that group of British boxers of Benn, Eubank, Watson and also Collins, that were all around about the same time. I remember watching Benn fight in kick boxing matches one weekend then he would box the following one. It was only when he challenged for a title that he was forced to give up kickboxing to keep his boxing license.

Also have to do Jack Johnson, as he is a proper character, and Jou Louis as he was my Grandad's hero. Oh and I had best do one on John Conteh or I could get in trouble. Sugar Ray Robinson and Roberto Duran as well.

I was intending to only do fighters after retirement.}

6.) 01 May 2018 21:38:57
It's funny you say that Ed because my grandad spoke a hell of a lot about Jou Louis and spoke of him so highly, if only he was here today to read the piece you'll write about him. Some great names to do there mate I'd look especially forward to the Jack Johnson one, I know bits about him but not a great deal but he did sound like one hell of a character.

{Ed001's Note - there is a very watered down film based on him starring James Earl Jones. I think it was a TV movie. While it does portray him in a very romantic light, it still is a good start to see what they could show, as they couldn't go into some of the things he said and did.}

7.) 01 May 2018 22:31:21
'and also Collins'.

Collins, just for clarity is not British.

{Ed001's Note - that is why he was 'and also' rather than just and. I thought that was obvious.}

8.) 01 May 2018 23:12:48
Was it 'The Great White Hope' Ed? going to have to give it a watch mate.

{Ed001's Note - that's it. Hence the name being slightly different as it is not a true depiction, but it is enough to give a slight idea of the man and what he faced at the time.}

9.) 02 May 2018 09:01:07
Going to have to give that a watch mate, will try and get it in at some point this week. Speaking of films based on boxers have you ever seen ' Cinderella man'? if not I highly recommend it, based on the life of James J. Braddock.

{Ed001's Note - never even heard of it, I will look it up. I remember watching Great White Hype once by mistake though, as I thought it was the JEJ thing I mentioned. Was not one I would recommend but there are worse comedies about.}

10.) 03 May 2018 09:22:55
Lol I had to google it Ed mate because it rang a bell, I saw it quite a few years ago now, not one I'd watch again I don't think haha!

Yeah definitely look it up mate when you get a spare moment to yourself, it's an excellent film.

Might watch Raging bull tonight now I'm thinking of films, loved that film.

{Ed001's Note - the Roberto Duran one that came out a couple of years ago was quite good as well.}

11.) 03 May 2018 10:35:01
Hands of stone?

{Ed001's Note - I can't remember to be honest. That rings a bell, but it was his nickname so it would do! It is only fairly recent and had Robert de Niro in it if that helps.}

12.) 03 May 2018 10:45:36
Ah yes, it's Hands of Stone. I've had it on my computer for quite a while but still not watched it, got 3 days off now so I'm going to binge watch some stuff lol.

{Ed001's Note - I quite enjoyed it myself, so would recommend it. He was a great character. Very few of those around nowadays in the sporting world.}

13.) 03 May 2018 13:21:47
His interview after beating Sugar Ray Leonard was hilarious. I tried to look for it on youtube but I can't seem to find it, however in the ring when being interviewed, he's scream stuff like "I knew I was more of a man than he is! ". Then Ray whooped his ass in the 2nd and 3rd fights lol.

{Ed001's Note - he did lose his way somewhat after winning the first fight.}

14.) 03 May 2018 13:37:50
And as we're talking about movies with Boxing, have you guys seen the Ali movie with Will Smith? I thought that was done really well, Will Smith definitely did a good job as Ali and it was the first boxing movie I watched that looked like actual boxing.
Plus James Toney plays Joe Frazier and Michael Bentt as Sonny Liston.

{Ed001's Note - I will have to check that out then. I was never keen on the idea as I just can't get my head around Will Smith as anything other than the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, even now.}

15.) 03 May 2018 17:39:32
Hahaha Ed I was the same mate about Will Smith lol but he does a good job to be fair, the only gripe I have with the film is how they dragged it out, to me it could've been much shorter or if your going to make it that long at least put more in it, I think it was very watered down, but overall it's definitely worth the watch. I just think it could've been a lot better considering the hype it brought at the time.

{Ed001's Note - I will have to have a look I guess, give it a go.}

I think Wilder will knock Fury out in the first 4 rounds. I don't think Fury is ready for him BUT I have doubted him plenty of times in the past and he's proved me wrong, either way I think it'll be a good fight.
