i wasn't actually as shocked as some people were when ruiz beat joshua.
because even before the fight was speaking with friends about joshua and he always struggles a bit in fights where people fight up close to him and when he can't keep them at range with the jab and his defence is actually quite poor to.
have seen loads of rumours around that joshua was hurt prior to the fight but in my opinion I just think he underestimated ruiz (as did many others)

the rematch should be very interesting and agree with roro in another post that it could be the end for him if he loses again.

Watched Joshua vs Ruiz fight again and imo what was wrong with AJ was that his mind was not on his work. Yes he trained hard, but there’s a different between training hard and just going through the motions.

Maybe he hype has got to him abit, let’s remember even though he’s a Olympic champ his amateur experience is limited and he’s been fast tracked as a professional, be tough for a young man to mentally accept that without any problems.

On the fight, never seen AJ hold his hands so low especially the left before. His punch selection was very poor, pawing with the jab and neglecting the right hand. Didn’t see him throw uppercut all fight, which is the prefect punch against ruiz. He gassed after being hit in the 3rd but imo that was more mental and he didn’t think ruiz could hurt him.

On a positive note for the rematch if u want AJ to win, he has shown he has the power to hurt Ruiz and I think he won’t make the same mistakes again.

Joe rogan claiming he has it from a good source that aj was actually ko’d in sparring during the week of the fight. After all this talk of concussion in football surely boxers should be checked over because as much as I enjoy calling him a flop he really didn’t look right.

World boxing news claimed it was joey Dawejko who floored AJ in sparring. I have no idea if true or not, I wonder why Joshuas da was cracking up at eddie hearn after?

Any decent manager would pull him out, looking back at the fight it look like he has some kind of concussion and he also apparently had a panic attack after the fight, absolutely disgusting if he’s fought concussed he could have died.

It would have been fight week he was knocked out in sparring if that actually happened as boxers usually finish sparring a week before the fight.
